Street photography while travelling can be a nightmare! You tend to get overwhelmed by all the new things around you and take tons of mediocre photos to just ruin your time which could have been much more relaxing and inspiring without street photography! Perhaps the key is not to worry much about taking good street photos on holidays!
The first three photos that I have put here are shot in Vienna, Austria. I lived for a good seven years of my life in Vienna, and every time I travel back there, it pleases me that I know the city and its people a bit. I find street photography in Vienna quite difficult, as I sense people don’t like being photographed at all, but when I risk it, I tend to like the photo very much, perhaps as it tells me stories of a different but somewhat familiar kind of life.
The other photos are from my short trip to St Ives in Cornwall, England in May 2022. As always, I was interested in people and was hoping to get something specific to the lives of people there, regardless if they were tourists or locals. But my photos tell me I haven’t been able to resist the scenery either, but then that should have something to do with people’s stories too.
